ELDRED, Pa. — Carole L. Cochran, 77, formerly of Newell Creek, went to be with the Lord on Thursday (Sept. 8, 2016) at the home of her daughter, following an extended illness.

Born July 5, 1939, in Olean, she was a daughter of Joseph and Eleanor Phelan Oliver. In 1960, at St. Mary’s Church, Sartwell, she married Edwin L. Cochran, who passed away on March 20, 1995.

Carole was a 1958 graduate of Otto High School. She then graduated from
St. Francis School of Nursing in Olean, N.Y., in 1965. She had resided
in Newell Creek for almost her entire life.

Mrs. Cochran was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the St.
Francis Hospital in Olean from 1965 to 1991, and later, the Olean
General Hospital from 1991 until her retirement in 2001.

Carole was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sartwell.

She enjoyed reading and solving crossword puzzles.

Surviving are, a son, Edwin D. “Eddie Dean” (Wendy Campbell)
Cochran of Frederick, Md.; two daughters, Shannon L. (Matthew) Brown of
Eldred and Jennifer L. Daubert of Wilkes-Barre; five grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeannette (Richard) Fitzsimmons of Erie;
and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by, four sisters, Mary Bigley, Josephine
Warters, Eleanor “Jean” Oliver; and her infant twin sister,

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 11, 2016) at
the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred. A Mass of Christian burial will be held
at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s church, Sartwell, with the Rev. Thomas
E. Brown as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The
Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m. Sunday evening.
