 Robert J. Baker

ROULETTE- Robert J. Baker, 76, of W. Main St., passed away Wednesday (Sept. 7, 2016) in his home, after a brief illness.

US Army veteran

Born April 1, 1940, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Bernard J. and Helen M. Creeley Baker. On June 27, 1997, in Port Allegany, he married Cindy L. Kio, who survives. They were since 1990.

Mr. Baker was a self-employed log truck driver for many years. 

Robert was a lifetime resident of the area and attended the Riverside Methodist Church, Roulette.

He was a member of the VFW Post 6391, and American Legion, Post 258, both of Port Allegany, and Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 460, Port Allegany. 

Surviving in addition to his wife, Cindy, are two sons, Luke A. (Shari) Baker and Scott A. Baker both of Roulette; a stepson, Nicholas E. “Lige” McKervey of Port Allegany; two stepdaughters, Kari J. (Chris) Payne of Covington, PA, and Megan J. (Andy) Trimm of Port Allegany; 11 grandchildren; a brother, William J. (Donna) Baker of Roulette; a sister, Connie R. (John) Benson of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at 3 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 11, 2016) in the Veteran’s Memorial Home, Port Allegany, with Rev. Joann Piatko of St. Joseph’s Epsicopal Church and Rev. Randall Headley of Riverside Methodist Church, co-officiating. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.

The Port Allegany Honor Guard will conduct a military service immediately following the service.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or the S.W. Smith Library.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
