trees and wires down across the road

Apparently a tree came down across the road and 2 cars, unable to stop in time ran into it. Not sure, but I believe they were coming from different directions. The tree was down right on a curve and sight was limited in both directions. I sat for 1 1/2 hours waiting to get thru, before being told it would probably be ANOTHER 1-2 hours while they tried to decide how to clear the "hot" wires, move the car (one had been removed), and start clearing the tree away. I, along with several semi's, finally gave up and turned my truck and trailer around and went all the way back to Sabinsville, around to Middlebury Center, then back to Ansonia, just to go 5 miles up rt 362. What boggles my mind is why on earth did it take the electric company almost 2 hours to get there and access the situation and start trying to clear the road??? That is unbelievable..I'm sorry, I just think they could have moved with a little more "urgency" than they did!!!

It was probably Tri-County! Ha Ha!

No it was not tri county! And there were a lot of outages and down trees with all the rain. I'm sure they were tied up with another situation and it takes time to get from one place to another. People are so inconsiderate. Most of those guys get calls all hours of the night to go turn your damn lights back on no matter the weather conditions and they do it with diligence. Hats off to the men out there turning your lights on so you can complain a little more on social media!
