Received voice mail today from Tri-County REC....The will be a planned power outage/switch over beginning at 7:30 am on Saturday, October 22 for all Tri-County customers (no specific area given). Customers will return back to normal in the afternoon (no specific time given).

Bill Pekarski has left a new comment on your post "Planned Power Outage Saturday":

At least you get a warning. Penelec was cutting my power routinely when they put in the new substation. Most times I didn't receive a call.

The specifics are given, 7:30Am Saturday returning back to normal in the afternoon. What more do you want? We do the best we can. Buy a generator if you're not happy.

The message we got said they needed to take down the power so theY could cut trees/limbs in the way of the lines.

They called us earlier in the week to let us know that Marshlands would be out tomorrow from 8:00-1:00. Then they called twice today to cancel it for next Saturday.

Great, right when im getting home from work gotta shower. Hope its back on before college football and hope we will see a reduction in our bills next month for power not used.

What I pay for electric, I shouldn't need a generator!

I am totally confused. We received a recorded message @ 11:51 a.m. today for a planned outage on Monday, October 24th from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. due to tree trimming near lines (Potter County, Portage Township, State Route 607). We however did not receive any call for this outage and there is nothing on their facebook page either. Seems odd that they would schedule such a large 'blackout' on a Saturday morning when the forecast temperature is only going to be 40 degrees. Can someone (an employee maybe) confirm and/or clarify? Thanks.

You do realize that if your power is off you won't be using any therefore you won't be paying for it. Apparently you don't understand how you get billed.

Hopefully they give a clearer notice to exactly who will be without power. I have received notices before for planned outages and its a huge help. Why isn't this being done during the week when most people aren't home? Glad to hear it was cancelled for today. It's cold. I need my heat!!

You chronic complainers be glad you can turn on a light, use your computers, ipods, microwaves, and the list goes on. Geeze are you chronic complainers, or 'I can do it better people?' It's an inconvenience sure, but for a good reason. Sit back and relax, calm down.

I agree that maybe this could have been done in warmer weather. However, if they did this during the week, you might have been home anyway because schools and businesses might have closed for the day because of the outage.
