Lloyd Tarr

Lloyd Tarr, 93, of Galeton, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 201 at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, PA. 

WWII Veteran
On May 30, 1942, in Olean, NY, Lloyd married the former Dorothy June Starks, who preceded him in death in 2015. 

He was a Veteran having served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. 

After returning from the war, Lloyd worked as an operator for Tennessee Gas Transmission and later co-owned the D&L Tavern with his wife, Dorothy. 

He was a Lifetime and founding member of the Galeton V.F.W. and was a member of the Galeton Moose. 

Lloyd enjoyed hunting, collecting rifles and coins, and especially loved helping children and the elderly. 

Surviving are a son, Lee (Diane) Tarr, Mayville, NY; two daughters, Patty (Kenneth) Adams, Galeton and Cheryl (Jim) McCarey, Sweeny, TX; nine grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Lloyd was predeceased by two sons, Lloyd “Skip” Tarr Jr. and Luther Tarr, a grandson, Brian W. Adams, six brothers, and three sisters. 

Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Galeton, on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 2:00 to 3:00pm with a Funeral Service following at 4:00pm. Pastor Skeet Keaton will officiate. Burial will be in the Bradford County Memorial Park, Towanda, PA. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Galeton V.F.W..
