Seneca Trout Unlimited Awarded Grant from Shell

On Nov. 9, 2016, Eric Potter, Community Liaison Officer of Shell Exploration and Production Company, presented Seneca Trout Unlimited representatives Tim Bizarro and Chase Howard with a grant check for $77,661.83 for agricultural projects to improve streams in McKean County.

Seneca TU is partnering with the McKean County Conservation District to plan and implement the projects. The funds will be utilized to assist local farmers install projects that will prevent the runoff of soil and nutrients into streams near their property. These practices, such as manure stacking pads and heavy use areas for livestock, are designed to be suited to the farm and the number of animals housed there. Seneca Trout Unlimited is a non-profit organization who supports stream improvements to benefit trout and other aquatic organisms.
