Thompson Supports Passage of FY 2017 National Defense Authorization Act

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-5) today voted in favor of the National Defense Authorization Act for 2017, which passed the House by a vote of 375 to 34. This bipartisan measure authorizes funding for the Department of Defense, to ensure resources to support personnel, training, maintenance, and procurement throughout the military.

“The defense authorization will help rebuild our military structure, modernize equipment and troop readiness, while providing a full pay raise for our troops and preventing further force reductions,” said Thompson.

The NDAA provides resources to fight terrorism globally, from ISIS to Al-Qaeda and its affiliates in Afghanistan. The legislation additionally provides resources to deter further Russian aggressions in Eastern Europe.

“The historical reforms included in this year’s defense authorization will guarantee that soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and guardsmen, who place their lives on the line each and every day, will have the resources to ensure our military remains the world greatest fighting force,” added Thompson.

Wonder how many lawmakers actually read the Act
before voting for it?

Does it still contain indefinite detention for American citizens? If so, then Thompson is a traitor.
