Coudersport VFD Adds New Equipment For Better Protection

Coudersport Department 48 added a new rescue truck this week. Great addition to their new Ladder. Hard work and dedication to the community enabled them to upgrade the trucks and equipment to ensure that Coudersport has the best possible fire protection for years to come. Great job to Chief Phelps and the rest of the "Fighting 48th". Good looking rigs.

HI guys, Yeppers we have a great bunch of emergency service volunteers and paid individuals in our community and I as a form EMT are proud of you all. BUT...we have a group of selfless volunteers and paid EMT's, First Responders and Paramedics who run over 1300 calls a year, miss out on family gatherings and holidays (just like you) and take hours of continuing education class at their own expense. They just took an act of faith and purchased a new medic vehicle to help those through out their 1500 square miles of coverage area, did anyone notice. The purchased a third used ambulance to assure a vehicle would be available for the transport of those who needed to be at a more specialized facility and hired 3 more ALS (Paramedic) providers full time to assure that the transfers and second calls would be answered on faith. In their spare time they teach CPR/AED and First Aid to emergency responders and the public, they sponsor and teach EMT classes most of the time with out pay. They are are unsung hero's in this area they ask for no recognition or praise they just keep on doing the job they were meant to do.... GOD BLESS YOU Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Keep Up the Great Work..

How many fires does a ladder truck roll for every year? Just wondering. Doesnt seem like there are as many real fires as there used to be.
