Hamilton-Gibson Productions is hosting a bus trip to New York City on Sunday, June 11. Reservations are being taken now on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to register and pay in full is Friday, May 5.

The bus will leave from the Benedict’s Bus Service terminal in Whitneyville, not far from Wellsboro, at 5 a.m. on June 11. Other pickup locations will be in Mansfield, Blossburg, Liberty and Williamsport, all in Pennsylvania. A fast food breakfast stop will be at 7:30 a.m.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., the bus will arrive at the Broadway theater district in Times Square where everyone will be dropped off to enjoy free time to browse gift shops, enjoy an attraction, hop on a double decker bus for a city tour and/or enjoy a Broadway show. Passengers will receive Midtown Manhattan maps with attractions and shops highlighted.

"Those going on the trip make their own plans for the day," said Bev Dochstader, Hamilton-Gibson's contact for this trip. "I will be seeing 'Waitress.' It stars Sara Bareilles who wrote all of the original music and lyrics for this show. Her final performance will be on June 11 and then someone else will take on the role of Jenna," Dochstader noted. "Those going on this trip can contact Benedict's for help in getting tickets for anything they want to do - from a Broadway show to going on a city tour, visiting a museum, selecting a restaurant for dinner, etc.," she added.

Checks to cover the cost of a Broadway show or attractions should be made out to Benedict's Bus Service and be paid directly to Benedict's. The $85 check for the trip itself should be made payable to Hamilton-Gibson and mailed to Hamilton-Gibson Productions, 29 Water Street, Wellsboro, PA 16901 or taken to the office on or before Friday, May 5.

To purchase discounted tickets in advance to attend an afternoon Broadway show on June 11, visit www.broadway.com for a current listing of shows. Among the other musicals that will be on Broadway on June 11 are "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical," "Transit," "Hello Dolly" with Bette Midler, "On Your Feet," the story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan set to their smash hits; and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," which just opened on Broadway on March 28. There are also comedies and dramas.

Select two Broadway shows to ensure a choice in case one is sold out and then call Maria or Taylor at Benedict's at 570-724-5867 or email maria@benedictsbus.com or taylor@benedictsbus.com. "They will check on ticket availability and discounted prices for both shows and let you know. Or wait and check out same day discount ticket sales upon your arrival in Times Square on June 11," Dochstader said.

"Dinner will be on your own before boarding the bus at 7 p.m. for the return trip home. We should arrive in Whitneyville around midnight on June 11."

The price for the trip to New York and back is $85 per person. Not included in that price are: the breakfast stop, dinner and the cost of a Broadway show and/or other attractions.
