Coudersport Rotary Club News - 6-26-2017

Lora is the Mobile Drive Coordinator for the Community Blood Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania and Western New York that connects donors to patients who are in need of life-sustaining blood products in communities they serve.

The Community Blood Bank is a thriving, independent, customer focused blood provider dedicated to strengthening regional partnerships through the generosity of the donors. Lora told us that the Community Blood Bank is a non-profit organization and provides a safe, reliable supply of volunteer blood to patients in need. They have been doing this since 1966.

The Community Blood Bank is the contracted provider of blood and blood products in Northwest Pennsylvania and Western New York. Lora advised us that with the majority of their partners serving the northwest region of PA, the Community Blood Bank is dedicated to guaranteeing an adequate supply of blood for all patients seeking medical services to their partner hospitals in Northwest PA and Western New York.

In closing, Ms. Cope stated, “while we have great support in Potter County, we suffer in the face of other blood drivers that take blood out of the area”. She asked everyone to” please support your local blood supply by donating with the Community Blood Bank”. There will be a Blood Drive on Monday, July 2017 at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital from Noon to 5:00 PM. One may call or text Lora at 570-789-4026. Walk-Ins are always welcome, and donors will receive a Disney Beach Towel (while supplies last).

Rotary would like to thank Lora Cope for being our guest and a very informative presentation.

Cathy Bowers introduced her guest speaker, Lora A. Cope, at today’s meeting.
