Golden Anniversary For Mr & Mrs Richard Kallenborn.

Miss Margaret Ann Cowher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow W. Cowher, Edinburg, and Richard Lee Kallenborn, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kallenborn, Murrysville, were married Saturday, June 17, 1967, in the United Presbyterian Church of New Bedord. Rev. John McClure, pastor of the church, officiated at the double ring services. Fifty years later, the couple was honored with an Open House on the occasion of their Golden Anniversary.

Dick graduated from Grove City College and worked for Stand Oil in Pittsburgh. He owned and operated two service stations in Bradford, as well as Two Mile Service in Port Allegany. He served as the Mayor of Port Allegany and was elected as a McKean County Commissioner. He set up the family business which is operated by him and his two sons - Michael and James - and now includes Pine Valley Auto Wash on Main Street. Dick is an elder of the First Presbyterian Church, a member of Liberty Lodge F&AM in Coudersport Consistory, and Zem Zem Shrine, He is a life member of the Star Hose Company, a member of the PA farmer Bureau, and served on the Board of Directors of the AAA (plus other boards).

Peggy graduated from Slippery Rock University and is retired from teaching in Port Allegany Elementary School. She is active in teachers’ organizations - Delta Kappa Gamma Society and PA Association of School Retirees, Peggy is a member of the Port Allegany Women’s Club and is a deacon of the First Presbyterian Church where she is also a member of the choir. She is also the current president of the Port Allegany Chapter of Church Women United.

Their hobbies and pastimes include boating on Keuka Lake, traveling, attending their grandkids’ sporting events and they are Buffalo Bills Football fans. They especially enjoy spending time with the family - son Michael, his wife Trisha and their two boys Jacob and Derek; and son James, his wife Leslie and their two daughters Kaitlyn and Ella.

The couple was honored with an Open House Celebration held at the Veterans Memorial and hosted by their family.
