Thirty Seniors Received Diplomas from Oswayo Valley High School

 The 110th commencement of the Oswayo Valley Middle/High School was held on Friday, June2, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. Thirty seniors received diplomas during the ceremony.

The presentation of medals was made by District Superintendent, Dr. Michele Hartzell. The Welcome Address was presented by Kendal Keech, the recipient of the Third Honors Award. He is the son of Dennis and Kelly Keech of Shinglehouse, PA. Mr. Keech will attend Slippery Rock University and major in Biology.

The Commencement Address was given by Sarah Malogrino, class valedictorian, daughter of Dale and Anita Norton of Shinglehouse, PA. Miss Malogrino will attend Slippery Rock University.

Also giving a Commencement Address was class salutatorian, Hannah Metcalf, daughter of Shawn and Amy Metcalf of Shinglehouse, PA. Miss Metcalf will attend Alfred State College and major in Veterinary Technician.

Presentation of the class was made by Principal, Mr. Douglas Dickerson and diplomas were given to the students by Board of Education President, Mr. Theodore Henry.

Closing remarks were given by Paige Tilley, Class Secretary, and daughter of Julie Williams.

Music was provided by Mrs. Natalie Seely.

Awards and scholarships were announced by Jane Perkins, Guidance Counselor. Over $178,000 in scholarships sponsored by local organizations were made available to Oswayo Valley graduates.
