Register Now For Aug. 19 Coudy Library 5K

Registration is open for Coudersport Public Library’s 8th Annual 5K Race, Walk & Fun Run, scheduled for Saturday, August 19 at 9 a.m. Forms are available at the library, as well as on the library’s website, The first 75 participants to pre-register will receive race T-shirts.

Race day registration will run from 8 to 8:45 a.m. on August 19. The race begins at the library parking lot and follows paved streets with some rolling hills. There’s also a half-mile Fun Run for kids ages nine and under at Mitchell Park, adjacent to the library; the fun run will immediately follow the 5K. Entry fee for the 5K is $20 individual (t-shirts for pre-registered and while supplies last); there is also a Family rate of $50 (5K only, up to four family members residing in the same home). Kids’ Fun Run fee is $5.00, day of race only.

5K Run trophies will be awarded to the overall first place finisher for men and women, with 5K run medals going to the first three place finishers in each sex and age division.

As in previous years, monetary contributions and donations of goods and/or services from area businesses are also being sought to make the event a success. Anyone interested in sponsoring or donating to the event may contact the Coudersport Public Library at 814-274-9382, or send donations to the library at 502 Park Avenue, Coudersport, PA 16915.

Proceeds from this annual event benefit the construction of a new public library building equipped to meet the growing demands and challenges of the 21st century. The building project is expected to commence after the Borough’s adjacent levee work is completed and inspected by the state.
