Sinnemahoning State Park Programs for Weekend of August 5-6, 2017

Sinnemahoning - Sinnemahoning State Park is offering a variety of family-friendly programs to park visitors this weekend.

Water Wonders: DiscoverE Program, Saturday, August 5, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM, 40 Maples Day Use Area - Play with water to discover its unique physical and chemical properties. This free DiscoverE program is designed for families with children ages 4-12.

Stories of Our Past: Austin Dam Disaster, Saturday, August 5, 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM, Campground Amphitheater - Join park staff to learn the story of the Austin Dam that broke in September 1911, destroying most of the town and claiming 78 lives. Campground talk followed by the 1-hour movie, "The Austin Disaster 1911," narrated by Willie Nelson.

Pontoon Boat Tours, Sunday, August 6, 10:30 AM, 12:00 PM, and 1:30 PM, Lake Day Use Area - Enjoy a relaxing and informative pontoon boat tour of the George B. Stevenson Dam, while learning about the reservoir and the many animals that live there. Three 1-hour tours offered. Group size is limited. Donations accepted. Pre-registration is required.
