Donald M. Barnard

Donald M. Barnard, 80, of Port Allegany, PA, died Friday (September 8, 2017) in the Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.

He was born July 9, 1937 in Port Allegany, a son of Gordon and Marion Green Barnard. On August 24, 1979, in Port Allegany, PA, he married Grace M. Barr-Austin, who survives.

Mr. Barnard was a 1957 graduate of Port Allegany High School and was employed in maintenance at Pittsburgh Corning Corp. of Port Allegany, PA. retiring in 1995

He enjoyed golfing, running, and spending time at the Wellness Center in Port Allegany.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:

three sons: Donald W. (Natasha) Barnard of Reno, NV, Gary T. Barnard of Port Allegany, and James (Loretta) Austin of Maui

three daughters: Shari (Scott) Austin-Dudley of Shinglehouse, Patti Austin of San Diego, CA, and Marci (Mike) Austin-Harlow of Wimber, PA

six grandchildren: Zane & Tanner Barnard, Nathan (Michelle) Comes, Shannon (Daniel) Reynolds-Terette, Kaiea Austin and McKena Harlow.

Five great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter

One sister Maryetta Sutton of Jasper, MY

And several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Barnard, and two sisters, Loretta Vetter and Eileen Barnard.

There will be no visitation or funeral services at this time. A celebration of Don’s life will be announced at a later date and time. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
