Karen M. Ames, 65, Bradford, Pa., passed away on October 6, 2017 at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY.

Born October 13, 1951 in Bradford, she was the daughter of Carl and Lois Shimp Tyler. On February 14, 1970 in Daytona Beach Fl. she married Jack E. Ames Sr. who passed away on Jan. 26, 2014.

She had resided on Summit Road in Bradford since 1972. Most of her life she was employed as a school bus driver for Bradford Schools and more recently for Todd Busses in the Otto Eldred School District.

She was a member of the Derrick City Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was a teacher for the Adventures and helped with VBS and other church activities. 

She was a past member of Bowling Leagues in Bradford and Olean. She loved her church and her bible and also enjoyed gardening, camping and campfires.

Surviving are one son, Jack Evans Ames Jr. of Gillette, Wy. and a daughter, Betty-Jean (Eugene) Hetrick of Warren, three grandchildren, Ariel (Joshua) Tudor, Kesha Hetrick and Dakota Hetrick and one Great Grandson, Robert Evans Tudor, also one sister, Barbara Smith of Gainesville, FL. 

Karen was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Tyler in 2017.

A memorial service will be held on Friday (October 13, 2017) at the Derrick City Seventh-day Adventist Church at 3:00 P.M. with the Rev. Lynn Gatz, pastor, officiating.
