MAN DIES AFTER BEING STRUCK BY TWO VEHICLES

WOODWARD TOWNSHIP - On Wednesday, October 25, 2017, a pedestrian was struck by two separate vehicles and killed. The tragic accident was reported by state police as happening along Route 220 South just east of the West Fourth Street ramp in Woodward Township.

50-year-old, Robert L. Brunner, of Lock Haven, succumbed to his injuries caused by multiple blunt force trauma, according to the Lycoming County Coroner's Office. It was reported that Brunner was walking in the middle of the roadway as he traveled south along Route 220 east of Woodward Township Volunteer Fire Company. Brunner was struck from behind first by a 2006 Subaru Forester, which was driven by 77-year-old, Janice L. Mitcheltree, of Trout Run. and then struck a second time by a 1996 Chrysler Town and County minivan being driven by 47-year-old, Stacia L. Stutzman, of Ralston, who was also traveling south, according to Pennsylvania State Police out of Montoursville, PA.

Deputy Coroner Jerold Ross pronounced Brunner deceased at the scene at 4:52AM.

Neither Mitcheltree nor Stutzman were injured in this sad incident. Also there were no charges filed against either driver.
