Potter County Artisan Center Fall/Winter Class and Open House Schedule

COUDERSPORT--The Potter County Artisan Center announces a variety of classes Open Houses for the fourth quarter of 2017. Classes are generally held on Tuesday evenings, from 7:00 pm ‘til 9:00 pm unless otherwise announced.

On Saturday, October 21, the Center will host a New Moon Fall Open House from 1 pm until 5 pm. This is a great opportunity for stargazers, leaf lookers as well as local residents to do some holiday shopping. Special music and refreshments will be offered.

Georgeanna DeCarlo, Dedicated Practitioner of Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique, will present an introduction to quantum healing and conduct a group session on October 24 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, at the Potter County Artisan Center in Coudersport. This will be a “light trance” session. The cost is $20.00 per person. Session materials will be provided. Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Class size is limited to 10.

Friday, November 3 from 5 pm until 8 pm, will be the first of three Christmas Open Houses, offering music, special treats, and introducing Christmas merchandise. Saturday, November 18, from 1 pm until 5 pm, and Friday, December 15 from 5 pm until 8 pm will round out the Open Houses for the season.

Cathy Snyder, an Artisan Center member, will hold a basket-making workshop on November 7 from 6 pm til 9 pm. Participants will learn to make utensil/wine basket. The cost of this class has been reduced to $20, a savings of $15 to the student. Reservations are required. This class was supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Jewelry-making proved to be a popular and fun class at the center, so Robyn Smelko, art teacher at Northern Potter, has agreed to return for another class. Students will make a handcrafted necklace, by creating original artwork that will be attached to glass, placed in a pendent tray, then added to a chain. Charms can be added if desired. The cost of this class is $20 per student. Robyn will be contributing a portion of the proceeds to the art department at Northern Potter. The class will be held on November 21 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Reservations are suggested.

On December 5, from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, the Artisan Center welcomes back Theresa Welsh, owner of Coudersport Paint ‘n Party. Grab a friend and join Theresa, who will provide step-by-step instruction, making the painting possible for even a beginner. The cost of the class is $35, and includes all materials. This is a BYOB event. All participants must have a valid ID and a PA sales receipt must accompany bottles.
