BLACK MOUNTAIN SYMPHONY CONCERT IS ON FRIDAY, JAN. 12, 2018

Photo by Gigi KnightThe six members of the Black Mountain Symphony are bringing their signature sound to the Deane Center stage on Friday, Jan. 12.

At 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, the Black Mountain Symphony, based in the Albany, New York area, will be on stage in the Deane Center’s Coolidge Theatre at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro.

This six-member ensemble has created their own signature sound that reflects an eclectic range of influences, from baroque classical violin and haunting folk-tinged ballads to funk-rock drums and hard-hitting dance numbers.

The band’s live concerts are sprinkled with hints of classical music, New Age, folk and rock. They sing their own originals and covers. Evocative of such artists as Fleetwood Mac, The Corrs, Yes, Belle & Sebastian, Damien Rice, Guster and the Dave Matthews Band, the group implements the same skill and vision on cover tunes as they do in their own carefully crafted compositions and in the process capture something unique and refreshing.

Whether touring nationally or performing at their favorite local digs, this up-and-coming group of young musicians features a roundtable of powerful lead vocals and harmonies that dance with captivating violin lines and soar over stunning soundscapes, shaped by years of classical training infused with an irresistible love for musical roots and a fresh, ultramodern mentality.

Band members are: Annie Campo, violin and vocals; Bear Campo, keyboard and vocals; Charles Burgess and Chris Peppe, both on guitar and vocals; Paul Burke, bass and Jason Matthews on drums.

This is a BYOB and snacks event. Tickets are $15. Reserve a table by calling the Deane Center today at 570-724-6220 or visiting www.deanecenter.com.
