Thompson to Host Agriculture Listening Session at 102nd Pennsylvania Farm Show

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson will host a public forum at the 102nd Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg on Saturday, January 6, 2018. This event will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Delaware Room at the Farm Show Complex.

Rep. Thompson will be joined by Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding, U.S. Rep. Dwight Evans and other Members of Congress for the listening session. The event allows lawmakers and the Secretary to hear directly from farmers and others involved in the agriculture industry about the Farm Bill and agriculture policy.

The group will also tour the Farm Show Complex, learning more about new technology and innovations assisting our nation’s agriculture community.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the largest indoor agricultural exposition under one roof in the nation, with nearly 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 300 commercial exhibits every year. The event showcases the quality and breadth of Pennsylvania’s agriculture industry and the people who make it thrive. The show offers visitors a tiny slice of the industry that employs nearly half a million people and contributes $185 billion to Pennsylvania’s economy every year.
