Mary D. FRANKLIN, 64, of Wellsville, NY

Mary D. FRANKLIN, 64, of Wellsville, NY, died Thursday, January 11, 2018 in her home.

Born January 20, 1953, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of William F. and Pauline Potts Meyers. On October 31, 1969, she married Stanley Franklin, who predeceased her in 2015.

In her younger years, she hunted deer and coon with her husband and children and would often relate her experiences. Mary enjoyed raising black and tans, blue tick hunting dogs and continued that love with her Pomeranian mixture pups, Odie and Ted. She also enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports, family get-togethers, and spending time with her church family at Knights Creek Evangelical Methodist Church. She cherished her visits from Pastor Carl Kemp and his wife, Linda, and loved assisting at church when able, especially with Sunday bulletins, even if she couldn’t remember how to put them through the copier. Mary collected football and baseball cards.

Surviving are: three children, Deborah (John Osborne) Howard of Smethport, PA, Stanley (Danielle) Franklin, Jr. and James (Raeabella) Franklin, both of Wellsville, NY; seven grandchildren, Matthew Franklin, Tiffani (Brett Elliott) Ray, Morgan Franklin, Ashley Hink, Jared (Michelle Cobado) Preston, James (Saddi Leitzell) Franklin, Jr., and Jacob Franklin ; six great-grandchildren, Emily, Lauren, Leightan, Caisen, Cooper, and one due in June; two brothers, William (Patty Densmore) Meyers and Charles Meyers, both of Wellsville; her mother-in-law, Betty Matthews of Wellsville; sisters-in-law, Mary Matison of Alma, Polly Pressler of Andover, Audrey Youmans of Friendship, Cindy Wallis of Syracuse, Margaret Cosimeno of Syracuse, and Deborah Meyers of Olean; niece/God-daughter, Christina Meyers of Olean; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brother, Rick Meyers.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Knights Creek Evangelical Methodist Church, Scio, NY. The Rev. Carl Kemp will officiate. Burial will be in Knights Creek Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Knights Creek Evangelical Methodist Church, 2987 CR 9, Scio, NY 14880.

Arrangements are entrusted to Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville, NY. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wellsvillefuneralhome.com.
