Registration Open Now For Hamlin Memorial Library 2018 Classes/Workshops

Hamlin Memorial Library in Smethport gladly announces that registration is now open for selected classes/workshops of the 2018 Creative Literacy Programming.

Fly-Tying course for beginning and intermediate student levels - Mondays, beginning Jan. 29th. Class time is 7-9pm, the course will run for eight weeks and is held in the library’s meeting room. The cost is $30 which includes step-by-step instruction, all materials and the use of a fly-tying vice and related tying equipment.

Hand-printed Paper Collage – February 20th, 22nd and 27th, class time is 6:30-8pm
Participants will create stenciled, stamped and gelli printed papers which they will use to create in-class collage projects. Julie Mader, a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts rostered teaching artist, will provide step-by-step instruction to ensure that participants will be able to continue exploring collage on their own after the sessions conclude. The cost of $28 pays for materials and instruction.

Knitting 001 Beginner/refresher Workshop - Mondays, February 26th and March 5th at 7:00 pm. Cast-on with Lori Rounsville and venture into knitting basics while learning knit and purl stitches to create a dishcloth in this 2-session workshop (yarn and needles are supplied). Anyone who has been thinking of learning to knit is encouraged to sign-up and join in the fun which was dubbed the “Dropped Stitch Workshops” during last year’s sessions filled with laughter and peer support. The cost of $6.00 pays for materials and instruction.
