Betty C. Schogren

Betty C. Schogren, age 57, formerly of Montmorenci Rd., Ridgway, PA, died Friday morning March 2, 2018 at Ridgmont Assisted Living Facility following a lengthy illness. 

She was born September 30 , 1960 in Philipsburg, PA, daughter of the late Carl E. and Dorothy M. (Yates) Schogren. 

She resided in Ridgway all of her life and attended the Awakening Alliance Church. She was a member of the Malachi Community Worship Group. She was a 1978 graduate of Ridgway High School and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and Houghton College. She had been employed as a Registered Nurse by Elk Haven Nursing Home for 27 years and was also the co-owner of The Bethel Bookstore.

She is survived by 1 aunt Virginia Beckstrom of New York and several cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother David C. Schogren.

Funeral and Commital Services for Betty C. Schogren will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home on Sunday March 4, 2018, at 4:00 PM. Officiating will be Chaplin John Smith of the Awakening Alliance Church. Burial will be at Oakmont Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 PM until the time of the service at 4:00 PM. 

Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Elk County Historical Society.
