MANSFIELD, PA (March 2018) First Citizens Community Bank selected Abigail Welch (Mansfield) and Darby Kasper (Columbia Cross Roads) as the recipients of their Business Scholarships for the 2018-2019 academic year.
Each year, First Citizens awards a scholarship to students entering their sophomore year in college. Awards are based on academic merit and community involvement.
Welch’s consistent community involvement made her an easy choice for the award. She volunteers at the Mansfield Area Nursery School, is a camp counselor in the Tiger Cub Youth Basketball Program and is a Community Service Teacher’s Aid. Welch is attending Mansfield University with a major in Business Management and Accounting.
Kasper, a pre-medicine student at Penn State University, is studying to become a pediatrician. She is taking dual minors in Health Policy/Administration and Animal Science. Kasper hopes to practice medicine in Tioga County after graduation. In her spare time, Kasper volunteers through the Hare Raiser’s 4-H Club, National Honor Society, and at the Tioga County Fair. As the 2016 Fair Queen, she spent over two hundred hours promoting local agriculture.
First Citizens Community Bank is headquartered in Mansfield, Pennsylvania.
