Marie S. Chase

Marie S. Chase, 96, of Bradford, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

She was born on August 10, 1921 in Bradford, a daughter of the late Myrl and Lepha White Scott.

She was a 1939 graduate of the Bradford Area High School where she was the class valedictorian. She received her certificate in accounting from Bryant & Stratton business school in Buffalo, NY.

On June 2, 1945 in Buffalo, NY, she married Willis P. “Paul” Chase who preceded her in death on November 19, 1995.

She was the owner/operator of McKean Memorial Park and Scott & Chase Realty. She also prepared taxes for people for many years.

She was a member of the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church where she was the choir director for many years and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed going to her family cottage at Findley Lake, reading, sewing and donating to many worthy charities. She was also a devoted grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by one son, Keith (Linda) Chase of Chesapeake, VA; two granddaughters, Dawn (John) Fischer and Traci (Scott) Kelly all of Pittsburgh; five great grandchildren, Kathryn, Aidan, Kasey, Taylor and Isaac; several nieces and nephews and five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren that weren't biologically hers but she took them in and raised them as if they were her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Anita Bickel, one son-in-law, Lee Bickel, two brothers, Ned and Roy Scott and one sister, Doris Nourse.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday at the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jay Tennies officiating.

Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
