GILLETT, PA - Big Elm (Dagget) and Millerton fire crews were dispatched to an early Saturday morning house fire in Wells Township around 12:55AM on April 21, 2018.

Fire units arriving on scene reported the house to be well involved at 7290 Coryland Road. At which point a second alarm was immediately requested.

Mutual aide was requested from South Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Webbs Mills Volunteer Fire Department and Pine City Volunteer Fire Department. Also a tanker from Golden Glow Volunteer Fire Department was said to have been on scene to assist.

According to Big Elm fire personnel, an exterior attack on the fire began as soon as lines were pulled from Big Elm's fire engine and from Millerton's fire engine.

Tankers from the multiple fire departments on scene, transported water to the fire scene from a fill site that was established to help battle the blaze.

Webbs Mills fire crews were said to have also assisted other firefighters to extinguish hot spots once the fire was knocked down.

The fire scene was finally cleared of fire crews by 4:00AM.

It was noted that Tioga Volunteer Fired Department was put on standby to cover Millerton's department. Although Webbs Mills fire units assisted at the fire scene, they also provided standby service for Big Elm, until that department finished up at the fire scene. Golden Glow Volunteer Fire Department was also placed on standby orders as their tanker crew assisted at the fire scene.

FNN was told that no one was home when the fire broke out. Sadly several animals had perished in the house fire.

This home was a complete loss. It was a beautiful 72-year-old, single family home. Investigators may not be able to determine the cause of this fire, due to the extreme fire damage.

Please keep the family in your prayers.

If anyone has additional information or knows if there will be any donation collections or fundraisers being held to assist the family please left FNN know by sending a private message. Once FNN receives additional information, an update will be posted in this article.

FNN extends a thanks to our readers for their assistance with this article, thanks also to all the fire departments involved that provided information for the public.
