Mock Crash Exercise At Cowanesque Valley School

Westfield Borough Police Department

Today we had the opportunity of taking part in a mock wreck held at the CV High School. This took many months of planning by several participants and a multitude of volunteers to facilitate it!

The drill was dispatched at approximately 1:30 pm. Crary Hose, Harrison Valley, Clymer and Knoxville Deerfield Fire Departments, along with Sabinsville Ambulance and Valley Ambulance were dispatched to the scene of a 2 car MVA with multiple patients and possible ejection. Upon arrival Chief 5 advised dispatch that there were 5 patients with entrapment and quickly requested a helicopter, and a coroner. Fire crews efficiently extricated the entrapped patients. There was one patient transported by medivac, one by ambulance and two deceased. One driver who was driving drunk was arrested for vehicular manslaughter.

We would like to thank the following people and organizations:
Matt Sottolano and Northern Tioga School District, Lisa Rice and The Tioga County Dispatch Center, Sheriff Frank Levindoski and his department, Tioga County District Attorneys office, Crary Hose, Clymer Hose, Knoxville Deerfield and Harrison Township Fire Departments, Valley Ambulance, Sabinsville Ambulance, SSMH Medic, Tioga County Assistant Coroner, Life Net 77, the students and teachers that were our victims, Vince Osborne and Cowanesque Recycling and Kenyon’s Funeral Home.
