Northern Potter Student Trevor Frey Receives Robert Barnett Award

The Robert Barnett Award is presented each year to the most improved Vocational Agricultural graduating student of Northern Potter High School. On Friday, June 1st during the Northern Potter graduation ceremony, the award was given to Trevor Frey. Trevor started out in the Ag program as an 8th grader who was home schooled and wanted to get more involved with Agriculture and the FFA. He started at Northern Potter High School in 9th grade and immediately became eager to learn more.

Trevor, known to most of his peers as “Jeff” came from a different background and certainly went through some adjustments during his first year at NoPo. Once he found his place as an Ag Student and an FFA Officer, there was no stopping him.

Trevor found his niche in the Ag Shop, starting off as a very timid Ag Mech 1 student, but quickly became a mentor who wanted to teach the 8th graders welding during Pennsylvania’s Teach Ag Week. He attended every Career Development Event he could, has gone to countless Leadership Conferences, assists younger members with Supervised Agricultural Experiences, and will soon be running for an FFA State Officer Position at Penn State University during the Pennsylvania FFA State Convention.

Trevor has come into his own, growing into an outstanding leader from that timid young man he started out as in 9th grade. His drive and passion have earned him the Robert Barnett Award. Congratulations to Trevor Frey, the 2018 Northern Potter Most Improved Vocational Ag Student.
