St. Marys man had armed standoff with police on Christmas Eve, officials say

ST. MARYS, Pa. (WJAC) — A St. Marys man is behind bars after an armed standoff with police on Christmas Eve, according to a criminal complaint.

Police say officers were dispatched to 500 West Creek Road for a domestic dispute.

When they arrived, police said they found a woman outside, bleeding from her head, who told them she had been abused by Cool in the driveway and that he was drunk and threatening to kill himself.

Police said the woman told them Cool was now in the house and had access to several types of guns.

Officers used verbal commands to try to get Cool out of the house for about a half hour, but they said he refused.

According to the complaint, police were eventually able to enter the house and learned Cool was armed with a pistol.

One of the officers tried to use a Taser on Cool, but one of the probes didn’t make it through his shirt and Cool then jumped through the living room window, according to the complaint.

Police said they confronted Cool in the backyard, where he cocked the pistol and tried to load it, but officers were able to take him into custody before he could do so. Read more...
