Llewellyn J. “Sarge” Wright

Llewellyn J. “Sarge” Wright, 88, of Smethport, PA, passed away on Wednesday (January 9, 2019) in Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.

He was born March 18, 1930 in Smethport, a son of Milton H.and Gladys A. Kinney Wright. On April 4, 1953, in Kane, PA, he married Leatrice E. "Mickie" Wright, who died on February 13, 2011.

Sarge attended Smethport schools. In the past, he worked for the Smethport Area School District, W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery and Backus Company of Smethport, retiring in 1992.

Sarge was a former member of the Odd Fellows.

He is survived by:

Two sons: Brian L. (Trisha) Wright of Kane and Christopher R. (Tammy) Wright of Smethport

Two daughters: Sandra L. Walker of Clermont and Marsha M. (Harry) Sheffer of Smethport

12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

One brother: Alan (Lucy) Wright of New Oxford, PA and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy, one granddaughter, Christina, one brother, Milton, one sister, Evelyn Freer, and son-in-law, Allen Walker.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, where funeral and committal services will begin at 1 PM with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Hamlin Memorial Library, Smethport, PA or a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be made at www.hartle-tarboxfuneralhomes.com.
