NEW YORK'S RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY TO HOST A SWEENEY RUSH LATE MODEL WEEKLY SERIES EVENT ON JUNE 7; RUSH SPRINTS TO APPEAR SEPTEMBER 13

(By Mike Leone)

(Ransomville, NY)...The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series powered by Pace Performance will have two sanctioned events at New York's Ransomville Speedway in 2019. A Sweeney RUSH Late Model Weekly Series event will take place on Friday, June 7, while the RUSH Sprint Cars will make their first ever appearance on Friday, September 13 in a Bonnell's Rod Shop Weekly Series event.

"No matter what the division, our racers always enjoy competing at different venues and we're appreciative Ransomville will give our Late Models and Sprint Cars the opportunity to compete at their facility in 2019," stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig. "Member racers in both divisions will be able to compete at Ransomville and accumulate points towards the Weekly Championships. RUSH rules of course will be in effect."

Ransomville is located 50 miles from Saturday night RUSH Late Model weekly-sanctioned Genesee Speedway in Batavia, NY and 40 miles from Sunday night RUSH weekly-sanctioned Humberstone Speedway in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada. Ransomville will pay a purse similar to Genesee's weekly purse. The RUSH Late Models' last appearance at Ransomville was back on July 15, 2016 in a Touring Series event when Bryce Davis won the first ever Crate Late Model show contested at the historic track.

Three former Ransomville Street Stock drivers, Dave Stolzenberg, Austin Hauser and Ryan Hoolihan are expected entrants. Stolzenberg is a regular at Humberstone, while Hauser and Hoolihan will be new RUSH Late Model competitors in 2019. 2018 RUSH Late Model "Futures Cup" Champion, David Pangrazio, will be one of the favorites.

Last year, the New York tracks of Brewerton, Can-Am, Skyline, and Weedsport that don't host RUSH Late Models on a weekly basis, held RUSH-sanctioned events.

The RUSH Sprint Cars will appear at Ransomville as part of the three-night "Empire State Classic" that kicks off at Ransomville on September 13 followed by back-to-back events at Genesee on September 14-15. Each event will pay $800 to-win, $160 to-start. Last year, Chad Ruhlman swept both Genesee events over a 16-car field during the inaugural season part of the track's "Topless Nationals".

Ransomville Speedway is a 3/8-mile dirt track located at 2315 Braley Road, Ransomville, NY 14131. For information, check out their website at www.ransomvillespeedway.com, like them on Facebook by searching Ransomville Speedway or follow them on Twitter @Ransomville.
