Causer Joins Event Highlighting New PA Farm Bill

Rep. Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint), chairman of the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, joined administration officials, fellow legislators and farmers at a press conference Thursday to unveil the PA Farm Bill, a comprehensive proposal aimed at addressing the varied challenges facing the state’s agriculture industry. The proposal, outlined by Gov. Tom Wolf and Ag Secretary Russell Redding, includes 17 separate initiatives all aimed at boosting the state’s top industry. In his remarks, Causer also highlighted the need to prioritize support for existing programs benefitting the industry. He and members of the House and Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs committees will be further assessing the governor’s proposals at a meeting in March with the goal of working toward a fiscally responsible state budget that also includes needed investments in the agriculture industry.

The event was held at Restful Acres, a dairy farm in Hershey operated by second-generation owners Frank and Virginia Graybill.
