I Am So Frustrated
Pastor B.J. Knefley

I am so frustrated this morning. No, not with anyone specific. In this case, it’s my dog. Yes, my dog has me in a twisted fit of frustration. Understand that she didn’t do anything other than what dogs do, she ate what she shouldn’t. Now that would have been bad enough but to compound it, she’s thrown up about six times since, which probably on some level was a good thing. This morning she drank to much water to quickly, all of which I tried to control because I knew what would be coming, and you guessed it, she threw up again. Not once but twice. Her bedding is a mess and I’ll either have to wash it or go to the Goodwill store and buy a couple of new blankets.

I know, I know, she’s a dog, what should I expect? I suppose the issue is the whole idea of being totally out of control. Additionally, I’m not in my house, I’m in someone else’s. It’s one thing when your dog is throwing up in your in own house, but someone else’s, not so good. It’s one of those things that I wouldn’t wish on anyone, not even my worst enemy.

Oh wait, that’s not all. To top off everything else, while all of this was going on, the power was out and it was dark. Thank God for flashlights. Seems there was an ice storm the night before and power had been out for most of the day and into the evening. Yesterday to get here, I had to drive through a snow storm. All of this to say that I’m south, way south of the Mason Dixon line. Lord help me! At least it isn’t the sub-zero temperatures that they are having back home where I live.

Okay, I’m through with my rant. I’ve regained my composure and I’m reminded that there is nothing new under the sun and that what falls to one man falls to another. I suppose that what is the most helpful to know is that my experiences and frustrations are common, I’m not alone. The ultimate question is not what happens to me or you, but rather what we do with them. That is the test of our true character. Think about it.

Dogs and or cats tend to do these things, as a pet owner it's to be expected. Patience is needed in these situations. I hope you do not get this frustrated around kids? I hope the dog has recovered from the incident. And no thank the people who manufactured the flashlights, not god.

Column not collum 2:16. With all the prayers thrown around here maybe someone should pray for better spelling and grammar.

I am glad I am not the only one that cares about that. Some seem to get cross when you correct such simple errors.
