BLOSSBURG, PA - Blossburg Borough Police Cpl Scott attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle that was traveling along the South Williamson Road late Friday evening, May 17, 2019, around 11:40PM.

According to local police, the vehicle failed to yield and turned onto Taber Street before coming to a stop. Once the vehicle stopped the suspect bailed out and fled on foot behind residences near a wooded area. Officer Warren responded to the area to assist and began to setup a perimeter. Mansfield Borough Police and Pennsylvania State Police were requested to assist with this incident.

As the foot pursuit continued near Taber Townhouses the suspect managed to returned to his vehicle. Officer Warren attempted to stop the male subject who was wearing blue jeans, a camo shirt and a ball cap, but the male drove off. Once again Officer Warren gave chase from Taber Street, to South Williamson Road, to Gulick Street and eventually the subject turned onto Morris Run Road. At that point it was around 11:45PM the chase was discontinued by the police officer due to a mechanical issue with his patrol vehicle.

Police did continue to search the area and were even seen in Morris Run around 2:30AM, as they looked for the suspect's vehicle.

Blossburg Borough Police Department reported they have identified the driver but the investigation continues. If any citizens that were witnesses have any additional information, please contact the police office at (570) 638-3134.
