Bradford Era Editor Marcie Schellhammer captures first place honor

Congratulations to Marcie Schellhammer for First Place Win

At Friday’s Pennsylvania Associated Press Media Editors awards in Harrisburg, Era Assistant Managing Editor Marcie Schellhammer was honored with a first place win for best column writing.

The judges comments on her entries read, “Awesome, slice of life columns that everyone can relate to in some way. Loved these. Great job.”

The entries submitted included columns about reading books, following in her mother’s footsteps, funny words, childhood memories, a mouse in her home and a U.S. Pain Foundation event in Florida.

Schellhammer has been with The Era since 2001, working as a reporter until 2010 when she was named associate editor. She was named assistant managing editor of The Era in February.

She is a graduate of Otto-Eldred High School and of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.  Read more....
