HAMILTON-GIBSON TUNE IN TO RADIO HG AUDITIONS ARE THIS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, MAY 18 & 19 AND FRIDAY AND SATURDAY, MAY 31 & JUNE 1

"Have you ever thought you'd like to get up on stage, but were afraid of the time commitment and all that memorization? asked Gabe Hakvaag. "Then, this may be for you," he said.

Open auditions are being held for male and female performers of all ages to try out for radio plays being presented during Hamilton-Gibson's third Tune in to Radio HG Festival. No memorization or previous acting experience is required. Hakvaag is producing the event.

Auditions will be at 1 p.m. this Saturday May 18 and this Sunday May 19 and at 7 p.m. Friday May 31 and Saturday June 1 in the Warehouse Theatre at 3 Central Avenue in Wellsboro.

The Tune In To Radio HG festivals have featured individual evenings of short plays - both new works and classic radio shows such as Flash Gordon, The Lone Ranger and The Bickersons. The Warehouse Theatre will once again be transformed into WBFR studios, with a live audience watching actors stand before mics with their scripts in hand, while live sound effects and music are combined to create an old-fashioned program of radio plays. Actors will not wear costumes or makeup and will read their lines live, using only their voices to create characters like Popeye and Olive Oil, Archie of Duffy's Tavern, The Shadow and more.

Actors are asked to read from scripts, sing, and create accents and unusual voices. Rehearsals will be scheduled based on availability.

Tune In To Radio HG festival performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 8, 9, and 10 and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday August 11 at the Warehouse Theatre.
