Ok everyone...the lucky winner is Muddy McDowell (Donna McDowell) of Roulette. The ticket was picked by Kathy Morey (sorry for interrupting your yard work). The winner has been notified and the first words out of his mouth were "I never win anything...I can't even get one damn number on the lottery" so I guess this ends his losing streak.

Anyone that would like to join in the fun the day of the Spree is welcome to stop in. We will start at 9am and will follow the runner with a camera and post it later in the day.

So congratulations to Muddy and Donna and thank you to all who bought tickets to support the Backpack program. The next thing will the the Cornhole Boards drawing on August 31st and then on to the bigger and better 12/25/31 days of Christmas raffle.

2-VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN LIBERTY TOWNSHIP
FNN Article © 2019.
LIBERTY TOWNSHIP - Just before 10:00AM on Saturday morning, August 3, 2019, a two-vehicle accident unfolded at the intersection of the Bloss Mountain Road and the Lower Arnot Road in Liberty Township.

At this time, it appears that a red pickup hauling a trailer may have pulled out in front of a FedEx truck that had just stopped in Blossburg and was heading towards Liberty when the crash occurred.

FNN was told there were two injuries reported, both said to be minor injuries.

The FedEx driver was seen moving boxes around, as the impact caused the back to open and packages to spill out. It is believed he also was one of the two taken to the hospital to be checked on, however, FNN has not confirmed the total number of injuries at this time.

The accident caused the closure of the roadway as emergency vehicles and ambulances sat on a curve and a hill at that intersection.

It was noted that a New York driver ignored traffic flares and a traffic flagger at the crash scene and continued through to the crash area and could of caused another accident or the death of a volunteer firefighter. That driver then turned upon the Lower Arnot Road and kept going.

Liberty fire personnel and Blossburg fire and ambulance crews responded and assisted at the scene.

Pennsylvania State Police are handling the investigation into this accident.

POLICE PURSUIT - TO FOOT PURSUIT - TO AMBULANCE TRIP TO HOSPITAL
FNN Article © 2019.

MANSFIELD, PA - Around 8:50AM Saturday, August 3, 2019, Mansfield Borough Police tried to pull over a Dodge Neon vehicle along South Academy Street, when the driver refused to stop. Although the officer lost sight of the driver, he continued to search for the vehicle in the borough. The driver of the vehicle was located a few minutes later and when the officer tried to approach the driver, the driver ran away.

The suspect took off on foot around 8:59AM, but the quick actions by the officer, which included a foot pursuit, and at least two uses of a taser before the fleeing suspect was brought down around 9:03AM along 58 East Wellsboro Street near the dentist office. Mansfield University Campus Police was requested for assistance at that location.

FNN was told that an ambulance was next to be requested to the scene where the suspect was apprehended.

The driver was transported to Soldiers & Sailors Hospital by Mansfield Ambulance crew to be checked over and Wellsboro Police was requested to meet the ambulance at the hospital in case he was needed to assist with the suspect.

The suspect's vehicle did have recent heavy damage to one side of his vehicle and it was believed to have been involved in some type of accident or hit and run. Pennsylvania State Police in Montoursville had no reports of any hit and runs. However, that does not mean there were not any between their area and Mansfield.

Mansfield Borough Police Officer involved in the pursuit headed to the ER to speak to the suspect and conduct the rest of his investigation into why the suspect refused to simply pull over.

Properties Listed As Tax Claim Bureau Sale Draws Closer

August 2nd, 2019
Potter County Today

Potter County Tax Claim Bureau (TCB) will be holding its annual “upset sale” at 10 am on Monday, Sept. 9, in the Gunzburger Building. It’s a last-resort auction to sell those properties on which taxes for 2017 or earlier have not been paid. The resultant revenue is divided among the affected school district, municipality and county.

At this point, about 200 properties from across Potter County are slated to go to the auction block. That number will drop significantly over the next several weeks. A list of properties subject to auction is posted on the website, pottercountypa.net (click on Departments/Tax Claim).

TCB has implemented a series of changes to make things easier for those who have fallen behind on their taxes to redeem their properties. These include a monthly installment option and a credit card payment system. Those payments are accepted online only, through the Tax Claim Bureau website at pottercountypa.net. The credit card payment option is limited to overdue taxes (2018 and earlier). Last day to pay 2017 taxes by credit card is Aug. 31.

These changes have had positive results, according to TCB Director Deanna Johnston. “The number of delinquent properties has been tracking downward in recent years,” she said. “Selling someone’s property due to unpaid taxes is always a last resort and we work with anyone who has fallen behind to try to avoid that outcome.”

Tax Claim Bureau personnel are located in Suite 111 of the Gunzburger Building, 1 North Main Street, Coudersport PA 16915; telephone (814) 274-0488, option 1.
