Joy V. Wenk

Joy V. Wenk, 70, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s Eternal care, Saturday, October 8, 2016 at her daughter’s home.

Born November 7, 1945 in Marlinton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Paul M. and Virginia M. (Gum) Galford. Joy was the loving wife of the late Terrence A. Loncosky who died September 27, 1981.

Joy was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Hanover, PA. She was an avid golfer and played with the nine-holers at both South Hills Golf Club and the Bridges Golf Club. She volunteered regularly at the Hanover Area Council of Churches with the PAL lunch program.

Mrs. Wenk 1963 graduate of Cameron County High School and a 1972 graduate of Bradford Cosmetology School of Beauty. She owned and operated her own shop “Cut n Curls” in Emporium, PA for 19 years until her retirement in 2008.

Joy is survived by one daughter, Deborah A. Ramsey and husband Joseph of Hanover, PA, one son, Terrence L. Loncosky and wife Becky of Cascade, MD, 2 grandchildren, Brittany N. Perkins and husband Donald, Justin T. Ramsey, one great grandson Cooper L. Perkins, and two brothers, Paul Galford and wife Nancy, and Craig Galford and wife Cathy. She was preceded in death by one sister, Kathy J. Galford.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held 12 PM, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA with her Pastor Rev. Michael Osladil officiating. A luncheon and time to share with the family will immediately follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Joy may be made to the Hanover Council of Churches, 136 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA, 17331, the American Cancer Society, 924 N Colonial Avenue, York, Pennsylvania 17403, or Heartland Hospice, 3417– C Concord Road, York, PA 17402.
