Gold Church To Continue In-Church Services

Gold Church
Hello Church!

As I’m sure most of you are aware, Governor Tom Wolf has released new restrictions for gatherings in PA. For indoor gatherings, groups of more than 25 people are prohibited. However, it was also made clear that these restrictions DO NOT apply to churches. Churches are still exempt from these mandates. Furthermore, the COVID-19 infection rate has remained very low in our rural area.

The elders have discussed the matter, and we have decided to continue having our single church service at 10:30 as usual. Practicing social distancing and wearing masks is strongly encouraged so that we may be doing what we can to protect one another and others in our community.

One change the elders agreed would be the best idea under the current circumstances is to not have the fellowship meal following the service. These new restrictions specifically target the food and drink industry to cut down on the amount of food being passed from person to person. We understand that the fellowship meal is a very important part of our Sunday gatherings, and this decision was not made lightly. We can assure you that this is only a temporary measure, and the fellowship meals will return at a later date to be determined. We as a church must do the best we can to remain obedient to the authorities God Himself has placed over us.

If anyone is not comfortable with attending the church service due to the risk of infection, please feel free to stay home and watch the live stream with the blessing of the elders.

Soli Deo Gloria!

If you're so afraid of the meal, why not have virtual services until we're safe. Could be our rates are lower than elsewhere because very few people are being tested here. Ask your people to continue supporting your church. You might regret your decision. Hopefully not, but my guess is you have many elderly among you. It only takes one person to spread this around, and don't forget, there are folks walking around who are infected but show no symptoms. Good luck, and pray you're making a decision you'l later wish you hadn't.

I think that the churches that are having outside services and stopping the inside services are the churches that really care about their people! The churches that say it doesn't apply to churches- does that mean the virus will stay away from all of your people just because you say it's ok? If you are going to gather inside, make it mandatory to wear a mask and protect your people unless all you really care about is the money you aren't getting when people aren't there. That's really the bottom line for some of these churches. And if you want the numbers to stay low, people have to follow these rules! They won't last forever the sooner people do what is being asked the sooner this will all go away!

Pray you don't get COVID and see how that works for ya.

Churches should follow the same rules as everyone else. Churches are well known for being super spreaders.....geez.
