Frequently Asked Election Questions

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
November 3, 2020, General Election

Have the absentee/mail-in ballots been mailed yet?

No, once we are certified by the Department of State and have our ballots printed, we will then begin to mail all the ballots

How do I apply for an absentee/mail-in ballot?
All applications are on the county website at www.pottercountypa.net. or you can go to
www.votespa.com to apply electronically.

Why do I keep getting applications to request an absentee/mail-in ballot?
Multiple organizations and parties have been doing mass mailings of these applications, if you already sent one in, please do not fill out another one, if you are unsure if you are to receive a ballot, please call our office and we will verify whether you have already filled out an application or not.

Can I cancel my permanent absentee or permanent mail-in ballot status?
Yes, the form to be removed from the Permanent listing is on the county website.

How can I return my voted absentee or mail-in ballot to the Election Offices?
A voter may return his or her voted ballot by US Mail or by hand-delivering it to the Election Office.
An absentee voter or mail-in voter may only deliver THEIR ballot in person; it is not permitted for a
person to hand-deliver the ballot of a spouse, family member, friend, etc. The only circumstance in which a person may hand-deliver someone else’s ballot is where the voter applied for an emergency absentee ballot.

Will there be sample ballots available?
Yes, once we have our ballots printed, the sample ballots will be on the county website.

Will the polls be opened on Election Day?
Yes, all 32 precincts in Potter County will be open on November 3, 2020.

When is the last day to register to vote or make changes?
The last day is October 19, 2020. Applications to register are on the county website at
www.pottercountypa.net or you can go to www.votespa.com to apply electronically.
If anyone has any questions, please call our office at 814-274-8467, our office hours are MondayFriday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Mail in voting is just inviting fraud...don't do it. Vote in person. Make sure YOUR vote is counted.

You can check to make sure your vote is counted. Voter fraud is very rare using mail in voting. Older vulnerable people should use mail in voting. Please take advantage of it and don`t put yourself at risk !

Absolutely no incumbents, they are all bums. You would do better electing Howdy Doody, at least he wasn't interested in selling out this nation.

A Trump person has spoken! Was there fraud in the primary? There is no evidence of fraud except that being pushed by the President himself!

Trump supporter: "COVID-19 is a hoax!!!! Only has a 1.3% death rate!!! That's not a lot!!!!"

Also Trump supporter: "Mail-in voter fraud based on the 2016 election was .0025%, that's a lot!!!!"

I for one will be voting in person to make sure my vote for Biden gets counted. Thanks for the motivation!

Hey 11:07 if you had a family member who was part of that so called 1.3% death rate, would Covid still be a hoax?

@11:34 do you know what satire is?..................HAHAHAH

11:34- that is exactly what I was going to say! So true.

Pay Attention, people. The point 11:07 is trying to make is that the rhetoric is twisting the facts to fit the message. In one case 1.3% is not a lot and in the next case 0.005% is a lot. They both can't be true.

2:51 thanks for that explanation. I didn't get the point the first time I read 11;07.
