God’s Country Ministries- Backpack Blessings Pantry

God’s Country Ministries- Backpack Blessings Pantry is a food pantry that will provide drawstring backpacks filled with weekend meals, snacks, and drinks to children in our communities that may Get little or nothing to eat on weekends or days away from school. We are actively collecting non perishable food items such as microwaveable soups, Mac & cheese, rice bowls, instant oatmeal’s, ravioli, etc. we are also collecting juice boxes, shelf stable milk boxes, Individually portioned cereal Bowls and boxes, granola bars, pop tarts, individually portioned fruit cups, applesauce, Etc. This is just an idea of items being collected. The backpacks will be filled with food items and easy to prepare meals that the kids will need little to no help with preparing for themselves. If you would like to support this cause, you can do so by contacting Me, Vera Kio via text message at 814-203-5889. Or by email at vera.vanwhy73@gmail.com. Wonderful work being done here! I think it would be wise to be sure to include the actual address/community for this particular endeavor. This is read by people all around the Twin Tiers regions and it would be helpful to include that pertinent information. (I think this is in Coudersport!) Just a suggestion. Thanks.

Love to see the kids get real food. Any possibility of getting real non processed food to these kids? Whatever they eat now is what they will eat in the future. We have an additional lack nutrition in this country as well. If you feed them highly processed foods they will be obese by the end of high school.

I think the CMA Church does this too!

I’m sure Vera would welcome any ideas for healthier non perishable food choices that would be easy for the kids to prepare themselves. I think I saw a post somewhere that she was welcoming other ideas . I think it’s wonderful that she is doing this. Because some nutrition on weekends is better than nothing at all.

YES !!!! My amazon wish list has several healthy non perishable food items on it. The foods I listed in my article are simply just a few. I am definitely searching for And open to healthier shelf stable food items to put into the backpacks. This is based out of God’s Country Ministries church in Coudersport ( the former Free Methodist church). Please feel free to contact me at the above listed number and or email. I welcome any and all suggestions. It truly does take a village to help these kids. I appreciate any and all feedback.

The catholic church does some of the same! They do the baby closet! This helps mothers and babies!
