Think About It

Are You Being Celebrated?
by
Pastor B.J. Knefley

If you haven't noticed, we live in a very self-centered society. The age of me-ism abounds. Selfishness, what's in it for me, and other such thoughts prevail. Rather than having a positive self image we look to others to determine our worth and valued. Instead of being valued for who and what we are, we become valued on what we can do and how well we perform.

Some of the most painful experiences people have had were those ones from childhood. Remember waiting to be picked for the kickball team? Remember what that was like as kid after kid was picked and you were left waiting. What determined the order of who was chosen first? Usually, it was about how popular you were, or how athletic your abilities. If you didn't fit in, you were chosen last. Remember the kids that didn't have to study for anything and always got A's and hundreds while you worked so hard to get a passing grade? Well times haven't changed; kids are still dealing with the same issues today.

What is your self-worth built on? In what area of your life are you feeling celebrated? If you are one that has a positive self-worth and live a life in which you feel celebrated, then count yourself fortunate for you are one of the few. For the rest, don't give up hope for there is a way that your self-worth can be bolstered, and your personhood celebrated. Where? It comes through your relationship with your Abba Father. You see you were created for purpose. You are not a mistake, nor are you someone else's mistake. It doesn't matter who your parents are or what you’ve done or not done in your life. God created you to be celebrated. He created you for worth and value. The problem is that like the rest of us, you've been looking to the world and the world's systems for your answers. It doesn't work, only God has the answers. You see you were created for His pleasure and His purposes. To look somewhere else is deception. So, if you want to have self-worth and feel celebrated, look to the one who created you in the first place and start living your life according to His plan. Think about it.

With all the upmost respect sir, no sky people created me, my PARENTS created me! Being picked last all the time for years upon years is not about me, it's demeaning, saddening, and just plain sucks! It makes one feel as if they are not good, or worthy enough. As if they are always going to be last, bottom of the barrel. You think about it.

1:21: If you consider yourself a cosmic accident, nothing more than a short lived chemical reaction, and a bundle of spontaneous interactions of matter, why bother to have an opinion or try to communicate that opinion? Why assign any weight or importance to feelings which are nothing more than chemical and electrical signals? You almost infer that there is an objective good to avoiding these particular interactions of matter. Think about it.

it's evolution, not god.

Brother Knefley,
Thank you for the memories.
The two extremes that you spoke of: the majority have either gone, or are going.
Those who could never do wrong, and seemed to always excel have been those who are most likely to join secret societies and have had no need for the Savior.
Those who faced adversity and turmoil in life seem to have no need for accolades, degrees and the praise of their fellowman.
Now, as my generation is walking into the fading twilight, I find that the two opposites also have opposite endings, some are weighed down with Jacob Marley's chains and fear death, some, like Lazarus, look forward to the end of troubles, and speak to God. No, it's not evolution, and we are not matter; we are spiritual beings, the breath of God in a mortal body.

These people have been taught to be godless communists and we are seeing the culmination of that in the US presently. God bless DJT and his family, may God grant us justice on this earth...
