***WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE ***
Tuesday afternoon at 16:07 City Firefighters were dispatched to a Barbour St. residence for a working structure fire. Dispatched advised incoming units that a City Police Officer found the fire while on patrol and reported the home to be fully involved on the first division.
City crews already short staffed due to two men being on an ambulance call ,responded with Squad 1, Tower 1 and 3 men. Upon arrival a 2nd alarm was struck bringing 10 off duty members and a RIT crew from BTVFD to the scene.
A rapid transitional attack commenced followed by lengthy interior and exterior operations that brought the fire under control at 16:53. Firefighters worked into the night with the last unit checking in quarters at 20:36.
Assistance on scene was provided by City Police, Bradford Township Volunteer Fire Department, and City DPW. Derrick City VFD was placed on standby.
Captain 1-20 (Kloss) had Barbour St. command.
