HG TO PRESENT FIVE, SHORT, WACKILY FUNNY PLAYS THIS FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, JULY 23, 24 & 25

"Let's go down to the cellar" says Mr. Preble (Larry Bddison) to his wife (Barbara Biddison)."What for?" she asks as "Mr. Preble Gets Rid of His Wife" begins.

Relax, unwind and laugh with Hamilton-Gibson's "A Midsummer Night's Entertainment" this weekend.

HG is presenting the same five, wackily funny short plays at each performance. The performances will be at 7:30 p.m. this Friday and Saturday, July 23 and 24 and at 2:30 p.m. this Sunday, July  25 in the Warehouse Theatre at 3 Central Avenue in Wellsboro.

"All five are comedies, each with a unique twist and quirky logic," said Thomas Putnam, director.

Tim Krall is paired with Pat Balon in "No Dogs Allowed" and "No Skronking." These two short comedies written by Shel Silverstein are deeply infused with his famously wicked sense of humor.

Krall is also the onstage narrator in “Boise, Idaho," a 30-minute comedy by Sean Michael Welch, a native of Michigan who is an award-winning playwright and novelist. Blending the lines between fiction and truth, this hilarious play happily smashes the convention of the invisible fourth wall between the onstage narrator and the three other characters as the play examines whether reality or a good story should triumph. It is described as "a mixture of Seinfeld's comedy with Pirandello's magical power to turn psychological analysis into good theatre."

Barbara and Larry Biddison of Wellsboro perform in "Mr. Preble Gets Rid of His Wife" adapted by Larry from a humorous short story by James Thurber and in "Duck" another short comedy by Shel Silverstein.

For these three special performances, Hamilton-Gibson is offering snacks and cold, non-alcoholic beverages as well as beer and wine that audience members can take with them into the theatre. Donations are appreciated.

The shows are for adults only. Tickets are $14. Also available are FlexPasses for $60. For more information, to purchase a flex pass or to reserve and prepay, call 570-724-2079 with credit card information or prepay online at hgp.booktix.com.
