BRADFORD, Pa (July 22, 2021)— The dedication and naming of Journey Health System’s (JHS) Education Center in honor of the late Jean H. Bromeley was held on the afternoon of July 22. Guy Signor, president and CEO of JHS welcomed nearly 40 friends, family and board members to the special ceremony held in the administration building located at Journey Health and Beacon Light’s main campus at 800 East Main Street in Bradford, Pennsylvania.

For over 30 years, Mrs. Bromeley served on the Board of Directors at Beacon Light. At one time or another, over the years, she served as a member of nearly every major board committee, including Quality Council, Human Resources Committee, Plant and Operations Committee, Development Committee, Executive Committee, and the Nominating Committee. She also served as Secretary of the Board for 13 years. Mrs. Bromeley rarely missed a meeting and her participation on our committee made it clear that she carefully spent countless hours in preparation.

“I don’t even know how many times Jean silently stepped up to help over the years whenever a need was discussed with the board.  She loved our mission and was behind the scenes making sure our vision of growth of services to those in need was able to become reality either through her wisdom, time, dedication or financial assistance,” said Signor.

Mrs. Bromeley passed away in May 2019 at the age of 86. Signor called the dedication a perfect way to honor a woman that did so much for Beacon Light and the community.

“I am so honored to be given the opportunity to dedicate one of the most important spaces within our agencies to a woman who spent almost 3 decades volunteering her time and resources to help build the organization into what it is today,” said Signor. “We appreciate Jean's husband, Tom Bromeley, and her entire family for sharing this amazing woman with all of us through these many years.”
