John H. Schmidt, Jr.

John H. Schmidt, Jr., 85, of Kane, PA passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021 at UPMC Kane.

He was born on January 5, 1936 in Philadelphia, the son of the late John Sr. and Ruth Rudduck Schmidt.

He attended Valley Forge Military Academy prior to attending Mansfield High School; where he was a 1953 graduate.

On October 11, 1958 in the Sacred Heart Church, Genesee, he married Louise M. Michaud; who survives.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean

US Army Veteran

War.  He was stationed in France where he belonged to Company C 553rd Engineer Battalion and the 986th Construction Company.

He was the owner of the former John Schmidt, Public Accounting, Kane; retiring in 1988.

He was a member of the Kane Rotary Club, Kane Kiwanis Club, the Kane Fish and Game Club, the Kane Elks Club and the VFW Post 1132, Kane.  He was a former member of the board of directors of the Kane United Way and the former Kane YMCA.  He was also a former comptroller and auditor for the Kane Community Hospital.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, Louise Schmidt of Kane he is also survived by two daughters, Rita (Daniel) Kelley-Kitchen of Kane and Lisa (James) Worden of Delhi, NY; one son, Kurt (Mary) Schmidt of Lexington, KY; one sister, Doris (Ross) Coons of Albuquerque, NM; five grandchildren, Chad Kelley, Kalie Moore-Zeigler, Thomas Worden, Danielle Dinger and Devan Schmidt and several nieces and nephews.

At his request there will be no visitation.  Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Ronald McDonald, II Funeral Home, Inc., Kane.
