Diane M. BUTTON, 74, of Galeton, PA


Diane M. BUTTON, 74, of Galeton, PA, died Saturday, November 20, 2021 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.  

Born June 7, 1947, in Wellsboro, she was the daughter of Clinton W. and Margaret Chase Campbell.  On August 4, 1967, in Galeton, she married Lawrence D. “Larry” Button.  

Larry died on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.  

A graduate of Galeton Area High School and Rochester Business Institute, Diane began her career in the x-ray department at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital followed by over 35 years as medical secretary / office manager with Dr. Michael Callahan in the Galeton Health Center.  

Diane was happiest while spending time with her family and loved ones.  She could routinely be seen at the Galeton & Wellsboro football, basketball, and volleyball games cheering on the grandnieces and grandnephews or found in the kitchen baking family favorite sweets for all occasions.  

Surviving are:  a son, Jeff (Joanna) Button of Frederick, MD;  her step-mother, Mary Campbell of Galeton;  two brothers, Jim (Delores) Campbell of Galeton and Tom (Jill) Campbell of Wellsboro;  a sister, Betty Ann (Bill) Lechler of Galeton;  nieces and nephews.  

She was predeceased by her parents.  

Friends may call Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Pine Creek Valley United Methodist Church, Gaines, where Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM.  Rev. Dr. Frank H. Billman, Pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton.  

Memorials may be made to GASD JV/Varsity Volleyball, Attn: Jess Green, 27 Bridge St., Galeton PA. 16922 and/or Wellsboro Boys Basketball Team, Attn: Steve Adams, 32 Meade St., Wellsboro, PA 16901.

A wonderful lady and friend I was glad to have had the honor of knowing her, she will be missed. Condolences to her family.
