A farmer from the time that he could walk, Sonny was fortunate to live his dream as the 3rd generation Blass operating Coolridge Potato Farms for over 60 years.  Sonny balanced life on the farm with raising a beautiful family.  He was an avid, and at times, very passionate sports fan and a longtime supporter of the Coudersport Falcons, as well as his children’s and grandchildren’s activities.  Sonny enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, and playing cards with friends and family.

Surviving besides his wife, Rita, are:  four children, Jeffrey (Tom Muraski) Blass of Phoenix, AZ, Joni (Tim) Montroy of Palmyra, NY, Joseph (Nancy) Blass of Richland, MI, and Jonathan (Debra Dehn) Blass of Coudersport;  four grandchildren, Brittany Blass, Bethany Blass, Rachel (Emmett) Ozminkowski, and Lance Blass;  nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Charlotte I. Freeman and Marjory L. Hawkins.

Friends may call at Park United Methodist Church, Coudersport on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM, with a Masonic service following at 5:00 PM.  A Memorial Service will be held in the church on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 2:00 PM.  Rev. Gregory Rapp and Rev. Scott Ogden will co-officiate.  Burial will be in Sweden Hill Cemetery, Coudersport.

Memorials may be made to the Coudersport Consistory, P.O. Box 69, Coudersport, PA 16915 or Park United Methodist Church, 15 E. Third St., Coudersport, PA 16915.
