Church Around Town’ event set for Sunday

Open Arms Church of Bradford is going on the road on Sunday, June 26, hosting outdoor services in Bradford and Foster and Bradford townships.

“Church Around Town” will start at 10 am at the small pavilion at Callahan Park, located at 82 Poplin Avenue; Foster Brook Park, located off of North Fourth Street in Foster Township; and the Bradford Area Lions Club, 107 Irving Lane, Bradford Township.

Each service will feature music and an inspirational message.

“This will be our second ‘Church Around Town’ event,” said Pastor Zoe Hatcher. “The idea was born when we held outdoor services in the summer of 2020 to accommodate changing gathering restrictions due to the pandemic. The environment that it created by worshiping outdoors was something so special, we wanted to revisit it the following year, even when there were no limitations on gathering indoors.”

Worshiping in the heart of our community, instead of the church parking lot, is such a rich experience, Hatcher said. To engage people in outdoor worship that maybe would not attend a service at a church building is exciting, she said.

“We will be continuing with this opportunity again this summer to get out of our church building and worship with our community. We’d love to see any of our neighbors in the community come out and join us for worship,” Hatcher said.
